Voodoo what you do...James Street Gastropub and Voodoo Brewery are helping us "Run the Voodoo Down" during Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week with this advanced appreciate of music 4-course beer dinner. We'll celebrate the origins of Jazz and its deep connection to Voodoo, all while enjoying music inspired beers from Voodoo Brewery and delicious dishes from from the James Street kitchen. Voodoo Brewery owner Matt Allyn will be in the house to discuss all the hoodoo involved in making this 2007 startup one of the regions favorite craft breweries while an expert in jazz history explains the jazz genre's connections with Voodoo.
To borrow from the City Paper, "James Street Gastropub & Speakeasy represents the rebirth of a great Pittsburgh tradition: jazz, food and drink on the North Side." With a large craft beer selection, specialty cocktails, infused liquors, and energetic takes on kitchen classics, James Street has experienced great popularity in the same building as former Deutschtown mainstay, the James Street Tavern. If you've yet to visit Pittsburgh's new home for live jazz, Voodoo & Jazz is the perfect chance to sample all it has to offer!
